MINNESOTA (KFGO) The Minnesota Department of Health reports the 80 confirmed measles cases in the state this year are the most since 1990. All but two of this year s cases have been among people who haven t received two doses of the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine. Seventy-one percent of those infected are children. “The measles, mumps and rubella vaccine is well-tested, highly effective and provides long-lasting protection,” Minnesota Commissioner of Health Dr. Brooke Cunningham said. “We strongly advise anyone who is recommended to receive the MMR vaccine and has not been vaccinated to contact their healthcare provider and get vaccinated now.” The cases in are area include two people in Polk County.
